Greenwashing in the Fashion Industry

I’d like to share an article I found that discusses greenwashing in the fashion industry, which is when marketers mislead their consumers by presenting a brand as more sustainable than it really is and don’t really address how they contribute to environmental problems and what they can do to fix it. One way fashion marketers can show genuine social responsibility is by opening up about their business ethics and specific actions they’ll take to better the environment in the production and manufacturing of their clothing. ASOS, for instance, has made being transparent a goal among their four key ‘fashion with integrity goals’. The article also shares how we as consumers can detect greenwashing & make more environmentally conscious purchase decisions. Check it out!
